ABSTRACT

Citrus huanglongbing is still a major concern of the citrus industry in the Philippines. To minimize the impact of the disease, growers practice the integrated management strategies such as the use of healthy plant materials, control of insect vectors and the eradication of infected trees. In conjunction, the government provides support by making available sources of quality plant materials and legislations to ensure the quality of plant materials. The partnership of the government agencies and the private sector as in the case of the ‘Sagip citrus project’ proved to be an effective way of harnessing support towards the management of citrus huanglongbing and other concerns of the citrus industry.
